Front of House Lead
As a Front of House Lead, you'll ensure front of house partners provide positive and memorable service while taking guest orders, preparing drinks, delivering food, and maintaining cleanliness. You'll perform supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the manager, directing partners during your shift, and training/developing partners. Key responsibilities include store lead operations/training, providing work direction; directly supervising partners; serving as conduit of communication for management. You'll also train partners on customer service, compliance, food safety, sanitation, equipment operation, etc. You'll work with the manager at peak times; perform closing responsibilities when needed; may serve as backup to manager. You'll assist in inventory control and purchasing duties, and in technical areas, as needed. You'll perform front of house service duties, as needed. You'll provide superior customer service; promote a safe environment for all guests through responsible serving; answer customer questions; assist with menu/beverage selections, including alcoholic beverages. You'll provide detailed information of menu items and specials, and beer and wine. You'll address complaints; resolve problems for guests/partners in a way that builds strong relationships. You'll merchandise products effectively; use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales. You'll perform front of house partner duties frequently. You'll perform back of house duties proficiently, as needed, including food preparation, plating, and ingredient ordering. You'll ensure compliance with TABC regulations. You'll ensure compliance with department and store standard operating procedures. You'll ensure logs are completed for area of responsibility (e.g., temp/86 logs). You'll ensure cleanliness/sanitation of sales floor, display cases, prep areas, and equipment.
Qualifications and key requirements include age requirement of 18+, work experience in restaurant leadership, experience in an H-E-B restaurant (preferred), experience in restaurant point of sale (POS) systems (preferred). Knowledge/skills/abilities include basic culinary knowledge - required, understanding of nutrition values and ingredients - preferred, expert communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills - required, strong reading, writing, and math skills - required, strong computer skills (MS Office, internet) - required, organization and planning skills - required, ability to lead a restaurant function, and other partners - required, ability to handle guest feedback and resolve problems effectively - required, ability to maintain a smile, even when balancing multiple priorities - required. Education includes completion of alcohol seller training/cash handling training - upon hire. Physical demands and working conditions include function in a fast-paced, retail environment, work extended hours and/or rotating schedules, safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts, constantly reach at waist, grasp, frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic materials, frequently stand, walk, frequently be exposed to wet and cold conditions, occasionally reach at overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push/pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements, shoulder circumduction, occasionally be exposed to heat, ambient temperatures, and loud noise, demonstrate the ability to lift 50 lbs, and manage in excess of 50 lbs.
