Georgia-Pacific’s Gypsum division is searching for a Production Manager for our facility located in Savannah, Georgia. This position will be responsible for managing the production operations with a direct report being the Production Superintendent. This leader will understand manufacturing and will be accountable for the safety, quality and efficiency of production results that are impacted by their team’s performance and capability.This position is a strategic position in the development of exceptional leaders across the organization. Our focus is on leaders who have the capabilities to lead their own site in the future. The role, responsibilities, and expectations at the plant will offer unique challenges for the Production Manager to tackle.

What You Will Do
·Lead and oversee the behaviors and actions that advance our Principle Based Management (PBM®) culture and the organizational vision.
·Responsible for the selection, performance, and development of people; managing individual performance and holding direct reports accountable for their results through vision setting and performance feedback.
·Advance continued capability development and operational improvement within the Principle Based Management (PBM®) culture while holding team members accountable for aligned behaviors, actions, and results.
·Build trusted relationships with employees by providing honest, direct, and timely feedback, supporting their growth, and addressing performance issues promptly.
·Foster an environment where the team achieves zero significant Environmental, Health, and Safety events.
·Manage asset performance to achieve facility goals and improve operational efficiency.
·Motivating and inspiring direct reports to achieve results in alignment with the plant vision and goals.
·Collaborate with others to identify, develop, and present improvement opportunities, including new technology, automation initiatives, and capital projects.
·Lead production department activities, including outage planning and execution, while troubleshooting process issues to support reliable operations.
·Ensure raw materials and operating supplies are efficiently managed to meet production requirements.
·Manage the selection, performance, training, and development of direct reports and hourly operators.
- Identify and align operational priorities with business vision - ensure production and delivery of the highest quality products at the lowest costs, consistent with customer requirements, company plans and profit objectives.
- Partner with capabilities to enhance facility performance and metrics - lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and develop innovative practices, methods and procedures that add value for the facility.
·Ensure appropriate staffing levels are scheduled to ensure operational goals are met.
·Provide flexible support to plant operations as business needs require, including during upset conditions, to help maintain safe, reliable, and efficient performance.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
·Proven supervisory experience managing departments and leading successful operations teams in a manufacturing, military, or industrial environment.
·Experience driving transformation through automation, technology, and continuous improvement.
·Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop salaried and hourly employees to strengthen capability and improve performance.
·Analytical and economic thinking skills to identify opportunities for improvement.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and/or 5+ years gypsum manufacturing experience.
- Kronos timekeeping
- Experience leading change-management/transformation initiatives
