Fresno, CA | Part-Time | Day Shift
Exact Staff is hiring for our client! We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Assistant to support a busy purchasing department in a manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for individuals with administrative, purchasing, inventory, or supply chain experience who enjoy working with vendors, tracking orders, maintaining accurate records, and supporting daily purchasing operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
Follow up on purchase orders to ensure materials are delivered on schedule
Maintain Excel spreadsheets to support purchasing, quoting, negotiations, and buying decisions
Assist with new supplier and component setup documentation
Coordinate incoming deliveries and review receiving paperwork for accuracy
Expedite purchase orders and communicate material shortages or at-risk inventory
Support quality issue resolution and assist with damaged or obsolete inventory documentation
Maintain supplier specification files, product information, and quotation records
Update purchasing information within Microsoft Business Central (ERP)
Assist Accounts Payable with invoice discrepancies and supplier-related issues
Coordinate supplier chargebacks when necessary
Create and maintain reports, spreadsheets, graphs, and other purchasing analysis tools
Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal departments
Perform other administrative and purchasing duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma required
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum one year of general office or administrative experience
Previous purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, or supply chain experience preferred
Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Business Central, is a plus
Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
Excellent proofreading, organizational, and time management skills
Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
Professional interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively
Pay, Schedule, and Location
Pay Rate: $16.90-$18.50/hour DOE
Schedule: Part-Time
Shift: Day Shift
