Job description
Job Title Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Job Summary This is a 13-week contract opportunity for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) located in Santa Rosa, California. The COTA will be responsible for delivering essential occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The role involves implementing individualized treatment plans, facilitating patient recovery, and promoting independence across various daily activities. This position requires a commitment to patient-centered care within a dynamic healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, and adaptive equipment instruction. Monitor patient progress, document observations, and report changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and adaptive techniques to maximize functional independence. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients. Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Ability to work in Santa Rosa, California. Preferred Qualifications Not specified. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in administering occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Competence in patient assessment, treatment planning, and progress monitoring. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interaction. Ability to accurately document patient care and progress. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team. Shift Details Shift: AM shifts, 8 hours per day. Schedule: 5 days per week. Guaranteed Hours: 30 hours per week. Contract Length: 13 weeks. Start Date: July 6, 2026. Call Requirements: Not specified. Weekend Rotations: Not specified. Licensing Requirements Current and unrestricted Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of California.
