Summary
:
The Materials Engineering Lab Inter is responsible for managing small materials engineering-related projects and supporting Materials Engineers and Scientists on larger projects by conducting materials tests, analyzing data, and elaborating summary reports.
Responsibilities:
Assist Materials Engineers and Scientists in test programs
Run materials tests (tensile, microscopy, thermal characterization, wear testing etc.) under the supervision of Materials Engineers
Assist in production (CNC Machining) and planning of test samples
Collect, organize, and present test data
Accountable for the successful completion of materials engineering projects
Minimum required qualifications:
Taken Materials or Mechanical Engineering courses or a technical degree in a relevant field (Associate degree or higher)
Previous materials testing and lab experience (preferred)
Basic knowledge of 3D modeling and CNC programming
Proficiency with MS Office Products
Willingness to work in a lab environment (standing, lifting up to 30 Ibs, PPE requirements, etc)

Must be familiar with the impact of the manufacturing process on the key factors that control the form, fit, and function of a bearing and/or compressor.
