  • Participate in internal company initiatives as a team member or leader to improve environmental performance and EHS processes.
  • Formulate compliance strategies, define practical solutions, develop action plans, and organize technical information to support decision-making.
  • Provide technical expertise in areas such as engineering, chemistry, and toxicology to support internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Track and interpret local, state, and federal environmental requirements, including CERCLA, SARA, CAA, RCRA, and CWA, and translate these into actionable site practices.
  • Participate in facility inspections and follow up on findings to ensure full compliance with all regulatory and permit requirements.
  • Work closely with environmental contractors, coordinate their activities on site, and manage and lead contractor relationships to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Assist in closing out action items arising from internal and external audits, ensuring timely and effective completion.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) as needed to identify and mitigate environmental and safety risks.
  • Perform additional EHS-related duties as assigned to support overall site compliance and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of regulatory experience in a chemical manufacturing facility or equivalent environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Title V air permitting and related air compliance activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental compliance, including air, water, and waste programs.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental engineering, wastewater management, chemical waste handling, and waste management practices.
  • Proficiency in environmental monitoring and reporting for regulatory compliance.
  • Working knowledge of key environmental regulations and programs, including CAA, CWA, RCRA, SARA, and CERCLA.
  • Experience supporting or leading EHS programs in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to wear and work in required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toe shoes, gloves, and a respirator.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement compliance strategies.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to diverse audiences and promote EHS initiatives.
  • Ability to organize technical information, manage multiple priorities, and meet regulatory reporting deadlines.

  • Experience in health and safety or EHS program integration, in addition to environmental responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies and participation in multidisciplinary risk assessments.
  • Exposure to toxicology concepts and their application to environmental and occupational health evaluations.
  • Experience with internal and external audits, including tracking and closing corrective actions.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership capabilities, with experience participating in or leading cross-functional EHS initiatives.
  • Ability to develop cost-effective solutions that balance regulatory compliance with operational needs.
