CT Technologist Job Description Job Title CT Technologist Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CT Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment at Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center in Buckeye, Arizona. This role involves performing a variety of CT imaging procedures on emergency patients, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images to support timely patient care. The successful candidate will operate advanced CT scanner equipment and collaborate with the healthcare team in a fast-paced emergency environment, contributing to critical diagnostic processes for patients presenting with urgent medical needs. Key Responsibilities Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and physician orders. Accurately position patients for various CT scans, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and optimal image acquisition. Operate and maintain CT scanner equipment, including troubleshooting minor issues and performing quality control checks. Administer contrast media as required, monitoring patients for adverse reactions and providing appropriate care. Review and evaluate CT images for technical quality, ensuring diagnostic accuracy and completeness. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding procedures and patient status. Adhere to all radiation safety guidelines, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with radiologists and other medical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care. Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Current ARRT (R) and (CT) certification. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced emergency department environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a CT Technologist in an emergency or acute care setting. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in performing a wide range of CT imaging procedures, including trauma and stroke protocols. Expertise in operating and troubleshooting various CT scanner models and associated software. Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and imaging principles. Competence in administering IV contrast media and managing potential adverse reactions. Excellent patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality diagnostic images.
