The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking to hire a Club Sports Student Supervisor of Operations for the Fitness & Recreational Sports Department. The Club Sports Student Supervisor of Operations plays a crucial role in the efficient functioning of club sports activities.
This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations related to finances, travel request, reimbursement, and club credit card request. This position assists in ensuring that Club Sport participants adhere to policies and procedures, and support the fostering of a positive and inclusive environment for all participants. The Club Sports Student Supervisor of Operations will work closely with club leaders, university administration staff, and other stakeholders to enhance the overall experience of club sports participants.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the administration of the club sport scheduling & programming
- Assist in the development and administration club sports policies
- Assist in the semester program assessment and report
- Assist in the recruiting, hiring and training of club sports student support staff
- Work with ASUN sport commissioner when needed
- Attend club sport council meetings when needed
- Manage and organize Pack Life submissions:
- Travel request
- Reimbursement request
- Credit Card request
- Check/BPO request
- Etc.
- Assist with maintaining group facility use schedules through department scheduling system when needed
- Assist with creation of invoices for staffing cost for Club Sport home games when needed
- Responsible for sending monthly emails per direction of Recreational Sports Coordinator
- Attend Bi- Weekly club sports meeting with Club Sport Administrators
- Daily operational tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
- Candidate must have effective written and verbal communication skills
- Candidate must have proficiency in use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and email)
- Candidate must have knowledge on the use of technology as it pertains to duties
- Candidate must have organizational and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidate has experience in Sport and Fitness facility operations and program familiarity, intramural sports, club sports, and experience in risk management as it pertains to area of work.
Schedule
Expected hours to work per week: Up to 20
Position works a varied schedule that aligns with club sport programming schedules.
- Spring & Fall semester work (mandatory)
- Monday through Friday and weekends (mandatory)
- Summer semester work (if available)
- On-call dates and special events
Compensation Grade
Student Employee Level 1
$13.75/hr
Exempt No Full-Time Equivalent 50.0%
