Job Title Mammography Technologist Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mammography Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in a diagnostic radiology department located in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves performing a full range of mammographic imaging procedures, including advanced 3D Tomosynthesis, to support accurate patient diagnoses. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic healthcare environment, ensuring high-quality patient care and imaging services for patients requiring mammographic screening and diagnostic studies. This position requires a professional who can operate specialized equipment efficiently and maintain meticulous patient records. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic mammography procedures, including screening and diagnostic exams, in accordance with established protocols. Operate and maintain 3D Tomosynthesis mammography equipment, ensuring optimal image quality. Position patients correctly for optimal image acquisition, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure. Accurately document patient information and imaging results in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines. Adhere strictly to radiation safety guidelines and quality control standards to ensure patient and staff safety. Collaborate effectively with radiologists and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care. Required Qualifications Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Mammography (M) credential. Demonstrated initial qualifications in Mammography. Completion of specialized training in 3D Tomosynthesis Mammography. Current licensure or credentialing by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) for Mammography. Preferred Qualifications Not specified. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in performing various mammography procedures, including screening, diagnostic, and interventional support. Expertise in operating 3D Tomosynthesis mammography systems and related imaging technology. Strong understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, and common pathologies. Excellent patient communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. Meticulous attention to detail for image quality assessment and accurate patient documentation.
