Job Title Emergency Room Registered Nurse Job Summary Join a dynamic Emergency Department team in Garden Grove, California, dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. This role involves applying the full nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to deliver safe and effective direct patient care in a fast-paced environment. As an integral member of the ED team, you will manage patient care, provide essential patient and family education, and collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate is adept at quickly responding to changes in patient condition, interpreting diagnostic data, and maintaining the highest standards of care and patient confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe and effective patient care by utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice in the Emergency Department. Direct and guide patient/family teaching, ensuring comprehensive understanding of care plans and discharge instructions. Oversee and guide the activities of other nursing personnel, maintaining established standards of care. Assume direct responsibility and accountability for the care provided to assigned patients. Communicate promptly and effectively with physicians regarding changes in patient clinical condition, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal findings, and symptomatology. Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment. Maintain strict patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies. Required Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department setting. Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire. Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 30 days of hire (required for units admitting pediatric patients, standard for ED). Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Specialty certification (e.g., CEN - Certified Emergency Nurse) within two (2) years of hire.
