Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description Job Title Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Summary Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment at a prominent facility in El Paso, Texas. This role involves performing a wide range of diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures, contributing to precise patient diagnoses and treatment plans. The technologist will work within an acute care setting, serving a diverse patient population and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This position offers an opportunity to apply specialized skills in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced imaging equipment to capture high-quality images. The successful candidate will be integral to patient care, ensuring safety, comfort, and accurate procedure execution throughout their assignment. Key Responsibilities Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately according to physician orders and established protocols. Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment, including gamma cameras and SPECT/CT systems, to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, such as cardiac, bone, renal, and thyroid scans. Monitor patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety, and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions. Prepare and calibrate radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring proper dosage and quality control. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including procedure documentation and image archiving. Adhere strictly to radiation safety guidelines and regulatory requirements to protect patients, staff, and the public. Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) or by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA). Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment. Preferred Qualifications Not specified. Expertise in operating and troubleshooting various nuclear medicine imaging equipment (e.g., gamma cameras, SPECT/CT). Demonstrated commitment to radiation safety and quality control. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities. Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt to new technologies and procedures. Shift Details Shift Type: Day Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (8-hour shifts) Days per Week: 5 days Call Requirements: Not specified. Weekend Rotation: Not specified. Contract Length: 13 weeks Assignment Dates: June 16, 2026 - September 15, 2026 Licensing Requirements Current and unrestricted Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in the state of Texas.
