Job description

Job Title Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a 13-week travel assignment in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) located in Monterey, California. This role offers an opportunity to provide essential rehabilitation services to patients within a post-acute care setting, focusing on restoring function and promoting independence. The COTA will work collaboratively with a supervising Occupational Therapist and an interdisciplinary team to implement individualized treatment plans. This position is crucial for helping patients regain daily living skills and improve their overall quality of life during their rehabilitation journey. Key Responsibilities Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans as established by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Provide therapeutic interventions to patients to restore function, reduce disability, and promote independence in activities of daily living (ADLs). Monitor patient progress, document treatments, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Utilize Rehab Optima (NetHealth) for accurate and timely documentation of patient care. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and adaptive techniques. Required Qualifications Prior experience working as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting. Proficiency with Rehab Optima (NetHealth) computer system. Preferred Qualifications Not specified. Skills & Competencies Clinical proficiency in providing occupational therapy interventions for a diverse patient population in a SNF. Strong documentation skills and ability to adapt to electronic health record (EHR) systems. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
