Job descriptionJob Title Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in a fast-paced Emergency Department located in Reno, Nevada. This critical role is essential for supporting an increased patient census, providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population presenting with various medical and traumatic emergencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for rapid assessment, intervention, stabilization, and ongoing management of critically ill and injured patients. This position requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care during night shifts. Key Responsibilities Conduct rapid and comprehensive patient assessments, including physical and psychosocial status, and interpret diagnostic data. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care for emergency patients. Administer medications, perform treatments, and manage medical equipment according to physician orders and hospital protocols. Monitor patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition, recognizing and responding to changes promptly. Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care. Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and patient responses, in the electronic health record. Initiate and participate in emergency interventions, including resuscitation efforts, trauma care, and rapid response. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions. Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license. Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) / Emergency Department. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, as applicable. Proof of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccination or attestation.
