Job description
Job Title Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in an acute care hospital located in Reno, Nevada. This role is crucial for managing increased patient census and providing high-quality care to a diverse adult patient population within a dynamic Medical-Surgical environment. The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive direct patient care, administer medications, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. This position requires flexibility, including the ability to float to other units as needed and work scheduled weekend shifts to support continuous patient care. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to medical and surgical patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to hospital policies. Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, reporting changes to the healthcare team promptly. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans. Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions. Float to other units within the facility as required to meet staffing needs and manage patient census fluctuations. Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada. Ability to float between various units based on facility needs. Ability to work required weekend shifts. Call Requirements: Not specified. Specific Dates: Must be available to work July 3rd, July 4th, and July 5th. Licensing Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (as applicable). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (as applicable). Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (as applicable). Proof of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccination or attestation. Proof of Varicella vaccination or attestation.
