Job description
Job Title Speech-Language Pathologist Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 13-week contract assignment in Vacaville, California. This role offers a guaranteed 36 hours per week, providing essential services to patients within a dynamic healthcare setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a diverse patient population with speech, language, communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. This position requires a commitment to patient-centered care and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices. Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication, cognitive function, and swallowing abilities. Educate patients and their families on communication strategies and swallowing precautions. Document patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge summaries accurately and timely. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions. Required Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Relevant clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in assessing and treating a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders (e.g., dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, cognitive-communication deficits). Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Compassion, empathy, and strong patient advocacy skills. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Shift Details Hours: 36 hours guaranteed per week. Days per week: 3 days. Shift type: AM shifts. Shift duration: 12-hour shifts. Call requirements: Not specified. Weekend rotations: Not specified. Contract length: 13 weeks. Start date: 2026-07-02. Licensing Requirements Current and unrestricted Speech-Language Pathologist license in the State of California. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
