JOB SUMMARY: The Laboratory Technician will support the operation of the R&D laboratory and Manufacturing by performing various tasks, overseeing Quality Control functions, and assisting the R&D Lab Manager in their daily activities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Request ingredients from raw material suppliers for projectsMake laboratory batches to drive the progress of R&D and Manufacturing projectsRecord batch results and communicate findings to the R&D Chemist and/or Lab ManagerDocument all experimental results, observations, deviations from procedure, and challenges encountered during benchwork in laboratory notebooks and electronic systemsKeep laboratory notebook legible, neat, and up to date with experimental batchesMake batches for stability and preservative efficacy testing, as well as conduct stability testing and record results in Stability LogsAssist with collecting and sending samples to 3rd party labs for various kinds of testingSet up lab equipment and apparatus to use for experiments as detailed in Standard Operating ProceduresAssist with filling, labeling, and packaging R&D samples that will be sent to customers for evaluationConduct QC testing and inspections of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure consistency and quality, in accordance with relevant SOPsAssist in the preparation of reagents to be used for Disinfectant titrationsHandle and store chemical substances safely, following established protocols and best safety practicesAdhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and ensure a clean, safe working environment.Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring they are in proper working conditionOrder lab supplies for the lab or notify R&D Chemist to order itemsAssist with the organization and upkeep of the lab chemical inventory Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Associates in chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology.
Bachelors degree preferred.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS: Foundational understanding of standard lab equipment such as viscometers, pH meters, lab balances, hotplates, and mixersFamiliar with cGMP, GLP, and GDP Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols accurately.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Proficient in the Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Experience with Microsoft Business Central, and ERP systems in general, is desirable.
