JC Steele & Sons is a family-owned industrial manufacturing company based in Statesville, North Carolina, operating a multi-entity structure with domestic and international operations. The company primarily serves the brick and building materials industry with growing adjacencies. JC Steele is undergoing a governance transformation, including the recruitment of an independent chairman, a new manufacturing president to lead operations in the United States, and the establishment of formal board structures and processes.
The Independent Board Director will serve as a voting member of the JC Steele & Sons Board of Directors, providing independent judgment, industry expertise, and governance discipline. This director will work alongside the incoming independent chairman to help professionalize the board, establish committee structures, and ensure effective oversight of strategy, talent, and shareholder interests. This role is designed to complement the existing board composition by filling specific skill gaps identified through a comprehensive board assessment. Depending on the candidate's background, they may be asked to chair one or more board committees.
