THE WORK

Lockheed Martin has been embedded with the USSTRATCOM Nuclear Mission for 30+ years and has a track record of bringing innovative mission software solutions to this domain. Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking engineers to support our USSTRATCOM software teams which create Planning and Command and Control (C2) capabilities as part of the Strategic Mission Planning and Execution System (SMPES) in a DevSecOps environment. In this role, you will help our team create modern Web-based, Java mission systems for the Nuclear community. The successful candidate will have experience with software systems built to exacting standards that are delivered on a DevSecOps cadence using Agile Scrum.

WHO YOU ARE

Our team needs a full-time Software Architect. In this role, you will work with Govt engineers to understand the software environment for new mission capabilities and design and document architectures that provide context for developers. Your designs will need to prioritize cybersecurity, performance, and reliability to ensure software components can achieve mission goals. A key part of this position will be to pathfind on new patterns that can be leveraged by Agile teams.

Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent STEM field

• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

• Experience designing system-to-system interfaces using REST, Kafka, and databases.

• Experience briefing design solutions to stakeholders at various levels of technical capability

• Experience coding Java and Web-based systems

Desired Skills:

• Agile experience using Atlassian Tools

• USSTRATCOM mission insight (Intel, Planning, or C2)

• Cybersecurity insights and experience evaluating vulnerabilities, threats, and risks

• Experience with large-scale, complex, SW-based systems

• Engineering experience with AFNWC SMPES, MPAS, NPES Systems

Ability to Work Remotely:

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
