We are seeking a behavioral health clinician to join our team. Kindezi works in collaboration with UCSF EMBRACE, Homeless Children's Network's Black Birthing Health Initiative, Rafiki Coalition for Health & Wellness, Black Infant Health, and other community birthworkers to reduce inequitable care and Black maternal and infant birthing disparities.

We seek mission-driven, passionate candidates who have perinatal and/or maternal mental health and program operations experience and demonstrated commitment to fostering anti-racist practice, racial justice, and equity in behavioral health care access and service delivery. We aim to foster an environment of inclusion and belonging, and to create a team from backgrounds that reflect and represent the diversity of families served in our innovative program.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Provide oversight of day-to-day clinical and program operations of Kindezi Black Perinatal Mental Health, and direct supervision of program staff, which focuses on increasing culturally-congruent practices and interventions for Black/African American birthing families in San Francisco. • Provide culturally relevant and responsive, healing-centered/trauma-informed counseling and case management services to Black/African American birthing families from pregnancy through one year postpartum
  • Participate in planning meetings and provide technical assistance, training, and resources on culturally congruent models, interventions and promising practices to promote mental and overall wellbeing, including the transition to parenthood, attachment and bonding, co-parenting, and adjustment to related internal and environmental changes
  • Prepare narrative and data analysis reports, while meeting funder requirements

Minimum Required Education & Experience:

  • Valid clinical licensure in California (i.e., Psychologist, LCSW, MFT, LPCC) and able to meet State/Board requirements to serve as a clinical supervisor
  • Experience in clinical consultation to clinical and non-clinical providers, preferred
  • One or more years of administrative and clinical management or supervision, in a community-based agency setting
  • At least three years of work experience providing trauma-informed outpatient behavioral health services to adults, children, youth and families; especially Black/African American communities
  • Knowledge and/or previous experience related to perinatal, maternal, and/or infant and early childhood mental health, particularly best practices and supportive interventions for those exposed to traumatic events
  • Familiarity with the diverse mental health needs of Black/African American individuals and communities and the historic social, political, economic influences of anti-Black racism and obstacles to wellness
  • Experience providing clinical supervision in community mental health settings, highly preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Work locations include telehealth, office/clinic, and home/community visits
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized, think analytically, and value accuracy and organization
