Duties and Responsibilities
The postdoctoral scientist will lead a two-year research project about diversity and conservation of Acropora corals in Dr. Tauana Cunha’s lab at Loyola University Chicago. This position includes sample collection in Mozambique, data acquisition in the wet lab, analysis and interpretation of genomic data, and scientific writing. Applicants should have experience with genomics of corals. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience PhD required in related field. Qualifications ● PhD degree in biology, evolution, or a related field
● Fluency in Portuguese
● Proficiency in command-line scripting (e.g. bash, R, python)
● Experience with molecular lab techniques (DNA extraction, library preparation,
high-throughput sequencing)
● Previous experience with research on genomics of corals
● Ability to work with and excitement to be a part of a diverse group with individuals from a
variety of backgrounds
● Strong written and oral communication skills
● Strong organizational and time management skills
● Ability to work independently and as a team player Certificates/Credentials/Licenses ● PhD degree in biology, evolution, or a related field
