Step into a North Slope hitch—your first days on the ice road
Sun low on the horizon, you join the crew huddle. The plan: support well service work as drilling and production ramp up for the summer season. You’ll stage tools, check gear, ride out to a well pad, and lend a steady hand as the team gets to work. Mentors teach you to handle equipment safely, keep the site organized, and watch out for your crew. By the end of the hitch, you’ve learned the rhythm of Arctic field operations—and you’re ready for more.
Where and when you’ll work
- Location: North Slope, Alaska (100% onsite)
- Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
- Schedule: Approximately 14-hour shifts
- Housing & Meals: Provided while working onsite
- Travel: Alaska-based candidates are preferred; travel assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
What you’ll do
- Support daily well service and pad activities alongside experienced crews
- Stage, transport, and care for tools, parts, and field equipment
- Operate basic hand tools and field gear with a strong safety mindset
- Handle general labor, housekeeping, and job site organization
- Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times
- Work as part of a high-tempo outdoor team
- Build skills through hands-on training and one-on-one mentorship
Training and entry into energy
No oilfield background? That’s okay. You’ll receive paid, practical instruction while contributing to real operations in one of the industry’s most unique environments.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Commitment to working safely with a team
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work extended shifts in remote Arctic conditions
Preferred backgrounds
Experience from physically demanding or hands-on roles translates well, such as:
- Construction
- Oilfield or industrial labor
- Automotive or diesel mechanics
- Farming or ranching
- Commercial fishing
- Warehousing
- Manufacturing
- Military
- Heavy equipment operation
