Sacred Heart School is a parish affiliated elementary school serving students, from TK through 8th grade. We are located in the city of Covina in the San Gabriel Valley region. Our mission is to provide our students with a strong Catholic faith based community that celebrates our Catholic faith, promotes a vigorous and elevated academic program, and provides our students with a strong spiritual, intellectual, social and emotional foundation that will serve them well as they move forward in their educational career.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Sacred Heart is looking for a full time grade 6 homeroom teacher with experience and expertise in the subject areas of middle school math, social studies and religion instruction. The candidate must demonstrate experience in research-based and grade level appropriate instructional strategies to teach middle school grade levels 6-8.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the 6th grade homeroom teacher is would be responsible for school wide religious prayer services and special mass celebrations as school Religion Coordinator.
All Sacred Heart full time teachers are expected to attend faculty, department, and grade-level meetings. SHS teachers are assigned supervision duties after school and participate in faith formation activities, including masses, prayer services, staff retreats, and student retreats.

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
