Job Summary:
Operating Room Specialist (Open Heart) in Corpus Christi, TX. This role involves performing a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. The position requires proficiency in scrub techniques across multiple specialty areas, including open heart surgery, with a focus on maintaining a sterile environment and supporting surgical teams during procedures. Candidates should have at least two years of Neurosurgery experience and be capable of working effectively within a team in a fast-paced surgical setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN license; BLS (American Heart Association); 2 years Neurosurgery experience minimum; General, Orthopedic, Plastics, Urology, ENT, and Vascular surgery experience preferred
- Preferred Qualifications: CVOR experience; experience in operating rooms with open heart or operating room open heart specialty known as OR OH
- Additional Information: Under the supervision of a professional nurse, performs all processes related to delivering direct patient care and assistance in the operating room before and during surgical procedures. Responsibilities include setting up the operating room, maintaining aseptic techniques, handling biological specimens, and assisting the surgical team. Must adhere to universal precautions and facility policies regarding sterilization, traffic control, and sanitation. Candidate must demonstrate competency in the use and care of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment, and be able to adapt to the physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients served.
