Job description
Job details Spherion Staffing is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Administrative Assistant to support operations at a major shipping and receiving cargo facility in Columbus, GA. This vital role serves as the central hub of communication and data integrity for the facility. The ideal candidate will split their time between high-volume data entry-specifically auditing and catching up on backlogged warehouse transactions-and managing the front-line logistics desk by coordinating the arrival and departure of transport trucks. ...
Responsibilities:
SAP Database Maintenance: Input, audit, and update backlogged inventory, storage, and shipping records within the SAP system to ensure 100% data accuracy.
Truck Gate Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound and outbound drivers; verify delivery/pickup schedules, assign dock doors, and accurately log entry and exit times.
Logistics Documentation: Review, process, and file high volumes of Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and shipping manifests.
Internal Communication: Work closely with warehouse operators, forklift drivers, and dispatchers to maintain safe, efficient, and timely truck turnarounds.
Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and resolve data entry errors, missing paperwork, or scheduling conflicts in real-time.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Skills:
Administrative Experience: 1-2 years of experience working in an office administrative, clerical, or data-entry focused role.
Technical Proficiency: Strong typing skills and comfortable navigating complex databases; high accuracy with high-volume data entry is essential.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with truck drivers and busy floor staff.
Organization & Detail Focus: A sharp eye for spotting small errors in numbers, dates, and freight codes.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Qualifications:
SAP Systems: Prior hands-on experience utilizing SAP software (specifically warehouse management or logistics modules) is heavily preferred.
Industry Background: Previous administrative experience specifically within a warehouse, shipping/receiving cargo hub, supply chain, or manufacturing environment.
Problem-Solving: Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage moving logistics parts independently.
