Position Overview

The Surgery Center Administrator serves as the senior operational leader for the facility and is responsible for the overall success of the center, including operations, financial performance, regulatory compliance, physician partnerships, quality improvement, and employee engagement.

Working closely with physician owners, executive leadership, and the governing board, the Administrator will drive strategic initiatives while ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster strong relationships with physician partners, the Governing Board, and executive leadership
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards
  • Develop and manage operating, staffing, and capital budgets

  • Lead workforce planning, employee engagement, recruitment, and performance management initiatives
  • Oversee physician credentialing, medical staff coordination, and contract management
  • Partner with physicians to enhance operational efficiency and patient satisfaction
  • Lead quality improvement, infection prevention, risk management, and patient safety initiatives
  • Evaluate opportunities for service line growth and operational enhancements
  • Manage vendor relationships, purchasing, and contracted services
  • Prepare operational reports and present performance metrics to leadership and governing boards

Required Qualifications

  • Progressive healthcare leadership experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or hospital surgical services environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing operations, budgets, staffing, and financial performance
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current leadership experience within an Ambulatory Surgery Center
  • Hospital Surgical Services leadership experience with significant ASC exposure
  • Experience working in a physician-owned or joint venture surgical center
  • Strong background in outpatient procedural services, particularly Gastroenterology
  • Experience managing strategic growth, physician partnerships, and operational performance

Ideal Candidate

We're seeking an engaging and results-oriented healthcare leader who understands both the clinical and business aspects of ambulatory surgery. The ideal candidate has a proven history of leading high-performing teams, building strong physician relationships, improving financial performance, and creating a culture focused on quality, efficiency, and exceptional patient care.

Candidates with experience leading outpatient surgery centers or hospital perioperative programs that include ambulatory surgery operations will be highly competitive.

  • Competitive salary of $135,000 – $170,000
  • Quarterly and annual performance bonus opportunities
  • Relocation assistance available
  • Executive leadership role with significant operational autonomy
  • Opportunity to partner directly with physician owners and executive leadership
  • Lead a modern, Joint Commission-accredited ambulatory surgery center specializing in Gastroenterology
