Machine Operator & General Laborer – Industrial Manufacturing
If you like hands‑on work, staying active, and learning new skills, this role is a great fit. You’ll operate a bagging line, perform quality checks, and help with general labor tasks to keep production running smoothly. This is a steady, full‑time job with 10‑hour shifts, heavy lifting, and plenty of opportunities to grow into machine operation or forklift roles.
What You’ll Do
- Run the bagging line safely and efficiently for 10‑hour shifts.
- Perform quality checks to ensure all packaged products meet standards.
- Work at either the front bagging end or wrapper end depending on production needs.
- Lift and move heavy materials — regularly 65 lbs or more.
- Handle general labor tasks: staging materials, moving product, and supporting the line.
- Maintain housekeeping around and under the lines to keep the area clean and safe.
- Assist with minor troubleshooting on the bagging line and related equipment.
- Follow all safety rules, SOPs, and company policies.
- Show dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Work well with your team and help wherever needed.
- Participate in forklift training and certification and use those skills to support production.
- Adapt to shift changes based on production requirements.
What You Need to Bring
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery.
- Ability to lift 65+ lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand 8–10 hours per shift.
- Comfort working in indoor and outdoor industrial environments.
- Basic troubleshooting for mechanical or operational issues.
- Strong work ethic and pride in producing quality work.
- Ability to follow safety rules and company procedures.
- Reliable attendance and teamwork.
- Willingness to perform manual labor and general production tasks.
Bonus Skills (Not Required)
- Experience in general labor, production, or industrial work.
- Machine operator experience, especially on bagging or packaging lines.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment.
- Packaging or bagging experience.
- Willingness to learn forklift operation.
- Mechanically inclined candidates who want to learn machine operation.
- Comfort working in indoor/outdoor industrial areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
