COUNTRY Financial is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its Tax Compliance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to expand your tax expertise while partnering with teams across the organization to support essential business operations and initiatives.

As a Tax Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with a variety of tax reporting and filing requirements. You will grow and leverage your knowledge of tax laws and regulations to prepare and review tax returns, manage tax payments, and support the accounting of tax transactions with accuracy and timeliness.

Beyond compliance, you'll have the opportunity to identify process improvements, implement efficiencies, and contribute to projects that enhance the effectiveness of the tax function. This position provides exposure to various business operations, direct interaction with taxing authorities, and opportunities to provide tax insight on business transactions and strategic initiatives.

This role makes an impact by:

• Preparing, reviewing, and/or coordinating with third party vendor to ensure proper filing of state & municipal insurance premium tax returns according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations by required deadlines.
• Coordinating or initiating the payment of periodic estimates of state & local premium taxes throughout the year according to established due dates.
• Preparing, reviewing, or coordinating the calculation and remittance of the appropriate surcharge payments and the necessary filings for the various companies according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations by required deadlines.
• Preparing, reviewing, or coordinating the preparation of annual reports and business license renewals for the various companies according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations by required deadlines.
• Preparing or coordinating the completion of state and local sales/use tax returns for the various companies according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations by required deadlines.
• Preparing or coordinating the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations on a timely and accurate basis.

Do you have what we're looking for?

• Accounting degree and/or CPA designation.
• Experience in premium, sales/use, withholding, and/or general corporate taxation.
• Able to use technology to enhance business processes.
• Self-motivated with strong critical-thinking skills and keen attention to detail.
• Able to work independently to guarantee the accurate and timely completion of tasks.

Base Pay Range: $64,800-$89,100. The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.

Incentive Pay: In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
