Job description

Inventory Control Analyst

ACCO Engineered Systems is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Inventory Control Analyst to ensure the accuracy, organization, and integrity of inventory across both business-owned facilities and third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses. In this role, the analyst serves as the primary on-site evaluator, utilizing the business's proprietary Warehouse Management System (WMS) to audit physical stock and enforce strict warehouse layout standards. The position requires an analytical thinker who can clearly identify the root causes of systemic variances and collaborate cross-functionally to execute swift resolutions. Daily activities involve a balance of on-site warehouse auditing, systemic data reconciliation, and collaborative process improvement with logistics partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Travel to assigned business and 3PL warehouses to perform comprehensive physical inventory audits and cycle counts.
  • Reconcile physical stock counts against the business's proprietary WMS to identify, track, and report variances.
  • Audit warehouse layouts to ensure all inventory items are clearly organized, properly slotted, and accurately labeled in accordance with established company standards.
  • Conduct deep-dive investigations into WMS transaction histories to determine the underlying root causes of variances or missing items.
  • Document and clearly articulate audit findings and systemic operational failures to both internal management and external 3PL partners.
  • Act as the primary point of contact to drive the resolution of inventory discrepancies, ensuring physical and systemic records are corrected swiftly.
  • Partner with warehouse managers to design and implement sustainable corrective actions that prevent future inventory misalignment.
  • Analyze slotting and labeling data to recommend process improvements that maximize overall warehouse layout and operational efficiency.
  • Track, analyze, and report inventory shrinkage metrics and financial impacts to minimize business loss.
  • Monitor and maintain key warehouse performance indicators (KPIs) to consistently improve overall inventory accuracy.

Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.):

  • High proficiency in navigating and utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or complex enterprise database software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically utilizing VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex data reconciliation workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to professionally interface with external partners and compile clear incident reports.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a strong root-cause operational mindset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail regarding warehouse organization, labeling accuracy, and inventory validation.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and build productive, professional relationships with internal teams and external 3PL vendors.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently to various regional warehouse and fulfillment facility locations.

Education and Experience :

Required:
