The City of Springfield is looking for a confident Human Resources professional with employee relations and training experience. The Human Resources Specialist - Employee Relations & Training conducts confidential and comprehensive investigations into workplace complaints involving misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and violations of employment law or City policies. This role requires exceptional writing skills and the capacity to produce high-quality, detailed investigative reports. Additionally, the position will lead training sessions with employees on a variety of topics.

Experience, Education, and Training Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Public or Business Administration, AND One year of professional, responsible experience in centralized human resources work. Master's Degree in Human Resources or a related area may be substituted for the experience requirement. Applicable responsible experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the education requirement, not exceeding two years, when coupled with, at minimum, an active PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
Licensing/Certification Valid driver's license. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification are desirable.
