Aviation Planning And Environmental Practice Position

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with excellent analytical and communication skills and a passion for aviation to help deliver our large portfolio of aviation planning projects at the nation's largest and most exciting airports. The successful candidate will bring experience in either drawing based software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and/or data analysis/programming languages (Excel, VBA, Python, etc,). This position can be located at one of several HNTB offices where we have a nucleus of aviation planning staff. This opportunity entails being responsible for applying planning strategies utilizing various technologies and tools to gather and analyze data, assess outcomes, and develop reporting and visuals to effectively communicate findings. This position assists with tasks for planning projects including research, studies, and documentation, coordinating with inter-disciplinary team members, from concept development through project completion.

What You'll Do:

• Researches and collects raw data, organizes, analyzes and provides review of the data for use in projects and for further analysis.
• Performs project analysis using technical guidance and software.
• Assists project team members with various support tasks such as development of maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reporting.
• Conducts research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to planning. Assists in the development of conceptual planning alternatives for urban and transportation planning projects
• Performs tasks related to the preparation and production of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Assists in stakeholder and public participation process.
• Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field

What You'll Bring:

• Prepares technical work for a wide variety of airport planning and preliminary design projects.
• Supports capacity analyses for airport facilities.
• Develops concepts and alternative drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and ArcGIS.
• Prepares technical reports for airport planning studies.
• Constructs and uses airport simulation models (AirTOP, VISSIM, etc.).
• Highly responsive to client requests.
• Prepares stakeholder and public presentations.

What We Prefer:

• Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Aviation Management, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field and 2 years of experience.
• Prior airport planning experience
• Passion for the aviation industry.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

The approximate pay range for Massachusetts is $71,233.98 - $106,850.97. The approximate pay range for Los Angeles Metro Area and Orange County, CA is $68,265.89 - $102,398.85. The approximate pay range for the California San Francisco Bay Area is $74,202.07 - $111,303.10. The approximate nation wide pay range for this position is $59,361.65 - $111,303.10. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
