Position Overview SectionWe are seeking an experienced Instructional Systems Design (ISD) Support Specialist to provide instructional design expertise in support of the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) education and training mission. This position collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Course Directors, Curriculum Development Managers, production teams, and government stakeholders to design, develop, evaluate, and improve multimedia-based instructional products and training solutions.The successful candidate will apply the ADDIE Instructional Systems Design model to develop effective learning experiences, integrate emerging educational technologies, evaluate course effectiveness, and ensure training products meet USAFSAM educational and operational requirements. Essential Job FunctionsInstructional Design & Curriculum DevelopmentApply all phases of the ADDIE model:AnalyzeDesignDevelopImplementEvaluateCollaborate with SMEs, production teams, Course Directors, and Curriculum Development Managers to create effective instructional products.Analyze training requirements and recommend:Instructional platformsDelivery methodsMedia formatsDevelopment toolsDevelop training plans and support validation activities to ensure courses meet learning objectives and required proficiency levels.Review, edit, and maintain curriculum materials for accuracy, clarity, grammar, formatting, and instructional effectiveness.Multimedia & Educational Technology DevelopmentDesign and develop instructional materials including:Instructor guidesStudent materialsInstructional textAudio scriptsVideo scriptsMultimedia productsSupport creation of graphics, media projects, simulations, and interactive learning products.Utilize modern instructional technologies including:Adobe CaptivateSCORM-compliant coursewareVirtual learning environmentsSimulation technologiesGaming applications3D modeling and virtual reality solutionsRecommend technology solutions to improve learner engagement and training effectiveness.Online Learning & Course EvaluationUpload, manage, test, and validate online courseware.Conduct testing of eLearning products and provide comprehensive evaluation reports.Analyze:End-of-course evaluationsStudent feedbackField surveysTraining performance dataProvide written recommendations for improving course effectiveness using ISD principles.Support validation and continuous improvement of USAFSAM training programs.Project Coordination & Stakeholder SupportReceive and clarify customer training requests.Coordinate project scope discussions and determine appropriate instructional products.Develop project storyboards and coordinate content reviews.Manage review cycles and obtain stakeholder approval for final course delivery.Provide instructional consultation throughout all phases of multimedia development.Attend meetings, training sessions, and educational planning events as required.Administrative & Program SupportMaintain curriculum files, records, and project documentation.Support office continuity activities and instructional program initiatives.Maintain organized project documentation and training resources.Provide technical and educational guidance to USAFSAM departments as needed.QualificationsMinimum Position RequirementsBachelor's degree in:Educational TechnologyInstructional DesignEducational DesignCurriculum DevelopmentRelated disciplineORFive (5) years of applied experience in Instructional Systems Design (ISD) techniques and related disciplines.Experience must include demonstrated knowledge in at least two of the following areas:Learning Theory & Educational PsychologyUnderstanding of learning theories and principles related to instructional design.Application of educational psychology concepts to training development.Instructional Design PracticesExperience designing training strategies, instructional models, and learning solutions.Knowledge of systematic approaches to improving instructional effectiveness.Educational AssessmentExperience developing:AssessmentsSurveysEvaluation toolsPerformance measurementsAbility to analyze instructional effectiveness and learner outcomes.Instructional Product CreationExperience developing training materials by:Identifying learner requirementsEstablishing objectivesSelecting instructional strategiesValidating learning productsEvaluating training effectivenessAdditional Required SkillsExperience developing modern educational content using current instructional technologies.Proficiency with tools such as:Adobe CaptivateSCORM course packagingMultimedia development toolsSimulation technologiesVirtual reality or 3D learning environmentsStrong organizational skills and ability to independently manage projects.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to critically analyze problems and develop effective solutions.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including:WordExcelPowerPointTeamsZoomAdobe AcrobatMust sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to performance.Highly Desired QualificationsMaster's degree in:Educational TechnologyInstructional DesignEducational DesignCurriculum DevelopmentRelated fieldExperience supporting military education and training programs.Experience with:Air Force formal training programsLearning Management Systems (LMS)DoD training environmentsMedical education or healthcare trainingMultimedia instructional productionExperience collaborating with military SMEs and operational training organizations.
