Operations Manager
The Operations Manager supports the day to day coordination and implementation of training, education, and outreach programs within the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC), specifically the Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination Core (CRTECC). This role assists in the planning, delivery, and ongoing operation of programs focused on cancer research and care that serve learners across multiple stagesfrom early education through advanced professional development.
Reporting to the Education & Outreach Manager and working closely with the Associate Director of CRTECC, the Operations Manager collaborates with faculty, staff, and community partners to support cancer education, training, and workforce development efforts. This position is responsible for coordinating program logistics, supporting trainee engagement, assisting with data tracking and reporting, and ensuring smooth program operations.
CRTECC's mission is to build a skilled research and care workforce. The Operations Manager supports this mission by facilitating effective program implementation, maintaining strong operational processes, and contributing to participant-centered program delivery.

The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center is the Official Cancer Center of New Mexico and the only National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center in a 500-mile radius.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing at least one of the following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or human resources AND 3 years of additional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, health sciences, or a related field is desirable. Experience supporting education, training, or outreach programs in cancer research, clinical care, public health, or a related field. Experience coordinating program operations, events, or participant services in an academic, healthcare, or research setting. Familiarity with data tracking, reporting systems, and program evaluation processes, particularly in grant-funded environments. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and support inclusive recruitment and engagement efforts. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
