Job description

Interim Childcare Campaign Manager

OneAmerica is seeking a full-time, Interim Childcare Campaign Manager from July 2026 to February 2027 to provide coverage for a staff member on leave. This is an interim role with the potential to be extended or made permanent depending on funding. The person in this role will report directly to OneAmerica's Chief of Staff and will have support from a seasoned campaign consultant to drive our organizing and issue-based work on Childcare in King County.

Over the last decade, OneAmerica has worked on issues at the intersection of childcare, education and immigrant rights. We've won significant investments for childcare at the state and local level, but there is still significant work to be done so that all people, regardless of income and immigration status, have access to affordable, culturally and linguistically specific care options.

The Interim Child Care Campaign Manager will help advance a growing, immigrant- and women-led effort to strengthen childcare access and economic opportunity for families across King County. Through grassroots organizing, leadership development, partnership building, and policy advocacy, this role will work alongside parents, caregivers, early learning providers, community organizations, and public sector partners to build support for Best Starts for Kids levy renewal and advance community-driven solutions.

The Interim Campaign Manager will play an important role in fostering collaboration across diverse stakeholders, developing emerging leaders, and helping lay out the groundwork for long-term investments in children, families, and caregivers.

  • Expand our base of immigrant advocates, especially parents, informal caregivers (including Family, Friend, and Neighbor caregivers), and childcare providers through campaign events, outreach, and 1:1 meetings
  • Set goals and metrics for base building and volunteer leader engagement. Track and report on progress.
  • Implement a leadership development ladder that provides coaching and mentorship so volunteer leaders can grow their leadership and engagement in the campaign
  • Prepare volunteer leaders to meaningfully participate in meetings with organizational partners, public sector partners, and elected leaders
  • Cultivate and build dues paying membership base

Campaign Management (25%):

  • Coordinate collaboration and communication between OneAmerica staff teams, including the English Innovations Team, in support of campaign goals
  • Manage implementation of OneAmerica's King County strategy in support of Family, Friend, and Neighbor caregiver supports including local and regional opportunities, which includes Best Starts for Kids levy renewal
  • Organize campaign team members and OneAmerica's English Innovations team members into enrollment drive events and canvasses
  • Engaging in clear and quick follow up with new leads to drive folks to take action with us by sharing their story, attending an event
  • Lead events in community that bring immigrant parents, children and providers together to build community and power
  • Organize parents and providers to attend meetings with lawmakers, coalitions and government to drive our local and regional opportunities, including the Best Starts for Kids levy renewal
  • Attend and turnout core team, childcare campaign members, and prospects from the field work to OneAmerica's King County Chapter meetings

State Level Advocacy on Childcare (15%):

  • Engage childcare campaign members in the process to build our 2027 legislative agenda
  • Attend interim meetings with lawmakers as needed
  • Prepare Childcare Campaign team members for 2027 advocacy work on childcare through group and 1:1 political education and training
