Job Description
Develop and provide training; such as HALOS, for plant operations management/supervisors. Establish benchmarks and implement loading methods/training for proper working pit floors. Develop mobile equipment operator standards. Provide manlift, boom truck, crane and any other specialty equipment training. Attend training classes to keep abreast of latest operator techniques and technologies. Work with and coach mobile equipment operators as needed.
Participate in production planning with local management with understanding of possible growth areas. Visit facilities Measure and correct haul road defects; such as, grade, crown, slope/crossfall drainage, width, berms, etc. Measure and analyze loading and hauling cycle times. Assist plant supervision with developing proper haul roads, working floors, and implementing pit improvement projects. Work with Mine Planning and Drilling & Blasting support groups to identify and implement short term pit development projects. Strong computer skills and ability to learn the operation of new software programs. Understanding of VMC EMS system, Loadrite, Vision-Link, and drone supported pit analysis software. Ability to anticipate, plan and coordinate projects, and proactively think through hypothetical "what if" scenarios to develop contingency plans. Audit mobile equipment safety, operating practices, and utilization. Maintain relationships with the general managers, area managers, and plant managers in your assigned plants. Work with them to define, develop, share, and drive implementation of agreed upon best practices.

Thorough understanding of Quarry Pit layout and operations function. Must have the ability to lead safe and timely completion of projects at or below budget. Must have the ability to control scope to avoid cost creep or expansion. Must have the ability to mentor and coordinate the training and development of operations personnel.
Other Requirements: Ability to work in all climate environments. Business Planning - Participates in developing short- and long-term business plans, forecasting performance against key metrics, preparing justifications and AFEs for major projects, and estimating the financial and human resources needed to achieve performance goals.
