Business Analyst
This position reports to the Director of Purchasing and is located in the Finance department. It is a full-time, 12-month employment status. The minimum job requirements include a Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, with a preference for at least five years of experience in school finance or related business areas. Essential skills include the development and recommendation of procurement policies, high attention to detail, proficiency with Windows-based software, technology training, excellent written and oral communication, strong problem-solving and organizational abilities, and the capacity to analyze information with a high level of work ethic and creative-strategic thinking.
The essential job functions include managing the travel desk for all district employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, administering the district's liability and property/casualty insurance program, coordinating procurement of materials, supplies, services, and equipment, and maintaining relationships with vendors and claimants to manage district exposure and minimize risk. The role also involves technical duties in procurement, market source and supplier research, and maintaining the vendor database. Additionally, the position requires managing the retention of purchasing/bid information, developing cooperative relationships with district staff and the public, and handling problematic situations professionally.
The environmental conditions for this role are performed inside in a computerized office environment with minimal exposure to extreme environmental conditions or hazardous materials/equipment. The physical standards include continuous sitting, talking, and hearing, frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping, and the ability to reach with hands and repeat hand, arm, or finger motions many times, such as in typing and computer work. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
