Position Information Posting Number PG196105TM Position Number 15CBS011 Position Type Temporary Essential Job Duties Assistance with molecular biology, plant tissue culture experiments in lab.

Essential job duties include:
  • Design and conduct research experiments on plant transformation and regeneration.
  • Assist the Principal Investigator (PI), graduate students, post-docs, and technicians in various experiments in the lab.
  • Work may involve chemical dosage tests, plant transformation, plant tissue culture, making media, and performing molecular plant experiments.
  • The candidate may also be responsible for helping with greenhouse and plant maintenance. They will participate in regular lab meetings and check-in meetings with PI to update progress.

Position Information

Requirements and Preferences Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. depending on work. Other Work/Responsibilities Other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Experience/Education
  • BS in Biology, Natural Resources or related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a molecular biology lab performing PCR or plant care experience.
Department Required Skills
  • Highly motivated; excellent problem solving and organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
  • At least 4 years of experience in lab-based research, knowledge of conifers and genetics.
Required License or Certification Valid driver’s license. Valid NC Driver's License required? No Commercial Driver's License Required? No
