Job description

Senior Environmental Manager / Geologist

We have an immediate need for a Senior Environmental Manager / Geologist who is a Licensed Site Professional (LSP) in the Boston, Massachusetts metropolitan area.

Come join our team! We are looking to build services and capabilities through the growth of our key asset- our staff. Ranked among the nation's top A/E and Construction Management firms by Engineering News-Record, LiRo-Hill provides construction management, engineering, environmental, architectural, and program management solutions. You can become part of an organization that has a strong track record and is looking to strengthen relationships and capabilities to continue being a trusted resource for our clients in the public and private sector. We are proud to be known as an "Integrated Construction, Design and Technology Solutions" firm and we have delivered on that label time and again.

Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients. LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston, Needham, MA and Edison, NJ.

Responsibilities

LiRo-Hill is seeking a highly qualified Senior Environmental Manager / Geologist who is a Licensed Site Professional (LSP) in the Boston, Massachusetts metropolitan area to support a diverse portfolio of redevelopment and environmental projects. This role is ideal for a proven seller-doer with substantial experience in contaminated site remediation, environmental characterization, and redevelopment initiatives. The successful candidate will bring strong client-facing capabilities, experience preparing technical proposals and planning documents, and a solid understanding of MassDEP regulations, policies, and the broader New England environmental market. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic business development efforts across both public sector clients.

The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them make informed decisions regarding environmental remediation and the redevelopment of contaminated properties. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting and expanding the environmental practice through business development, internal project leadership, and team management. Key responsibilities include establishing project teams, developing project initiation documents, preparing schedules, defining scopes of work, and developing cost estimates. You will also ensure that project teams are appropriately staffed with the technical expertise necessary to deliver high-quality results while maintaining cost efficiency.

Additional responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and ensuring the timely resolution of project issues and scope changes. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee project financial performance by managing budgets effectively and communicating cost impacts as needed. This role also includes providing technical leadership and oversight for field investigations, site assessments, remediation system installation, and performance evaluation activities.

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional (LSP) certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineering or Geology license preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental remediation services and redevelopment projects.
  • Demonstrated project management and budgeting experience.
  • Proven success in client development, acquisition, and retention.

Our Culture:

We believe in the power of collaboration. We work hard to build a corporate culture that empowers all our employees to freely share their ideas, know their presence, and contributions are truly valued, fostering a climate where our employees are enabled to maximize their full potential.

  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a positive work environment
  • Compensation: min $140,000 - max $200,000 annual
  • The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position.

LiRo-Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, marital status, sex, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or protected veteran status; and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.
