Williamsville Suburban a premier skilled nursing facility located in Erie County, is looking to hire a Human Resource Generalist to join our team of outstanding professionals. Our goal is to create an employee supportive environment utilizing staff-friendly strategies and a team-oriented approach to make sure our staff are well-trained and our residents receive top notch care. The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Ø Prepares timesheets for weekly payroll and assists the payroll processor in reviewing and finalizing payroll
Ø Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Ø Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with managers to understand skills and competencies.
Ø Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Ø Implements and manages new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Ø Administers and executes HR programs related to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance management, employee recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
Ø Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive issues as necessary.
Ø Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Ø Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews and updates policies and practices to align with legal and industry standards.
Ø Stays updated on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in technology.
Ø Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Ø May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.
Ø May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Ø Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Ø Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
Education and Experience:
Ø Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
Ø At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
Ø SHRM-CP a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ø Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ø Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Ø Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
