Job description
Job Summary:A Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the shipping and receiving of goods and materials within an organization.Duties/Responsibilities:Packaging:Pull and prepare packaging for shipmentsVerify documents and labels to product shippingAssemble, label, and package productUse of manipulator lifting devices for handling heavy products. Ability to lift 50 lbs. requiredPallet stacking, banding, and stretch wrappingUse of pallet jack to stage products for shipping and load trucksReceiving:Use of pallet jacks to unload trucksVerify countsCheck for damage to delivered productsReport discrepancies or damage to supervisorRecycle:Verify packing lists to products being receivedMatch serial number of products to database and receiveUse of manipulator lifting devices for handling heavy products. Ability to lift 50 lbs. requiredStack, strap, and wrap outbound shipmentsUse of pallet jack to stage products for shipping and load trucksEducation and Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
