Job Summary:
Join the Colorado School of Public Health as a Database Specialist (Open Rank Information Technology Senior - Principal Professional). This position is a key member of the school’s Lifecourse Epidemiology of Adiposity and Diabetes (LEAD) Center, a multidisciplinary research center that investigates and seeks to understand the developmental origins of health and disease, particularly obesity, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and the complex interplay of environmental exposures, genetic, and epigenetic processes in critical developmental periods across the lifecourse.
The Database Specialist will perform duties to support the center’s RedCap databases across multiple studies. Main responsibilities include complex RedCap database architecture creation, design, and maintenance, RedCap survey design and implementation, data curation and reporting for multiple studies, quality assurance/control, and assisting with managing the LEAD data warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and program RedCap database architecture.
Monitor daily database activities and implement enhancements as necessary.
Assist with staff support and training in database features and development, including troubleshooting database and workflow issues that arise during field data collection and ongoing study operations.
Produce data checks and reports to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Curate datasets for study personnel and investigators.
Develop clear and thorough documentation for work produced and study processes for transparency and replicability.
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position that reports to the Senior Research Scientist.
