Job description

Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer at Atlas Copco Compressors LLC, you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting customer centers within our Oil-free Air and Industrial Air Divisions. Your primary responsibility will be to efficiently execute technical and commercial orders for engineered compressed air systems utilized within the oil & gas, petrochemical, and other related industries. This role demands hands-on involvement, strong technical expertise, and close collaboration with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and project success. Reporting directly to the Application Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Develop and deliver competitively priced, technically sound quotations for skid-packaged equipment, ensuring profitability and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Thoroughly analyze customer specifications to verify compliance and identify any exceptions relative to Atlas Copco's standards and product capabilities.
  • Provide timely and effective support to sales and Application Engineers by converting quotations into confirmed production orders, streamlining project workflows.
  • Collaborate with Application Engineers and customer centers to tailor the optimal technical solution that aligns with client needs, enhancing customer satisfaction and project outcomes.
  • Formally quote sub-supplied equipment with a value exceeding 10% of the bid, ensuring clear documentation and alignment of all technical and commercial terms within project files.
  • Maintain a consolidated profitability approach by actively coordinating with Engineered Solutions teams worldwide, harmonizing scopes of supply to maximize gross profit for each project.
  • Adhere rigorously to OSHA regulations and the SafeStart safety training process, promoting a proactive safety culture to protect yourself and colleagues from injury.
  • Champion Atlas Copco's "Safety First" policy, striving towards zero work-related accidents and embedding sustainable practices that safeguard quality, environment, health, and energy/resource efficiency goals.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing flexibly to the evolving needs of the department and company.

This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with highly specialized compressed air projects, working within a supportive team that values innovation, integrity, and excellence in execution. You will be expected to manage multiple priorities while maintaining the highest standards of technical and commercial precision throughout the project lifecycle, contributing to the continued success and growth of Atlas Copco's engineered solutions.

To Succeed, You Will Need

  • Broad experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with exposure to industrial customers; familiarity with the oil and gas sector is considered a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to prepare detailed documentation and presentations.
  • The ability to interpret pneumatic and hydraulic flow diagrams alongside general arrangement drawings accurately.
  • Experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD to assist in technical drawing review and preparation is highly beneficial.
  • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or at least five years dedicated experience with rotating equipment applications.
  • Self-motivation with strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

We encourage all individuals who feel passionate and capable to apply, even if you do not meet every listed criterion as we value diversity, unique experiences, and perspectives.

In Return, We Offer

  • A culture rooted in trust, accountability, and collaboration that empowers you to excel in your work and career.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and professional development to support your career growth and keep your skills at the forefront of industry advancements.
  • An innovative environment where people are the heart of progress, encouraging new ideas and creative solutions.
  • A comprehensive compensation package including competitive salary, benefits, and performance incentives that recognize your contributions.
  • Health and well-being programs designed to support your physical, mental, and emotional wellness.
  • Access to cutting-edge technology and resources that enable you to deliver top-quality engineering solutions.
  • A supportive workplace diversity and inclusion policy that fosters equal opportunities and values each person's unique background and talents.
