Description
Sacred Heart School is looking for a faith-filled, enthusiastic, tech minded person to teach computers to students Kindergarten to 8th Grade and assist with the school’s technology needs.
The Computer Teacher is responsible for Kindergarten – 8th Grade technology instruction, ensuring students develop essential 21st-century skills while practicing responsible digital citizenship.
The computer teacher will be responsible for designing and implementing age-appropriate lessons in basic computing, Google Workspace for Education, and introductory coding/robotics. Instructing students on the ethical use of technology, focusing on the Catholic perspective of dignity, online safety, and “being a light” in digital spaces. Guiding students through keyboarding, research techniques, and the use of creative media tools for classroom projects. As well as collaborating with homeroom teachers to integrate technology into core subjects, supporting a “cross-curricular” approach to learning.
The technology assistant we be responsible for providing basic troubleshooting for classroom devices and managing the computer lab environment.
Requirements
- Degree or coursework in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Robotics, or a related field.
- Experience teaching technology at the elementary or middle school level.
- Active participation in the life of the Church and a commitment to Catholic education.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
