In addition to core development work, this individual will contribute to legacy application modernization efforts, mentor junior team members, and help establish practical standards for AI-assisted development. Candidates will be evaluated at the Software Developer II or III level based on experience and demonstrated technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain desktop software solutions aligned to business requirements and architectural standards, delivering scalable, high-performance, and secure applications.
- Participate in full software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities including requirements clarification, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot and LLM-based coding assistants) to improve code quality, test coverage, and delivery efficiency, while helping establish responsible usage standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve developer productivity, documentation quality, and code maintainability through automation and AI-assisted workflows.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers; conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, and communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs clearly across audiences.
- Support and enhance legacy applications while contributing to incremental modernization efforts that improve maintainability, security, performance, and developer experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant software development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Proficiency in .NET development using C# and SQL Server, with experience supporting both desktop and web-based Windows applications.
- Experience with Azure DevOps for source control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience performing code reviews and enforcing coding standards and best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and defect resolution skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

- Experience integrating AI-enabled capabilities (such as summarization, extraction, search, or conversational workflows) into applications using enterprise-approved services.
- Familiarity with prompt design, output evaluation, and practical safeguards for secure and responsible use of generative AI in software delivery.
- Experience improving engineering throughput using AI-assisted approaches to coding, testing, documentation, or debugging.
- Academic background or coursework in structural or civil engineering.
- Exposure to engineering analysis software, construction drawings, or layout design tools.
- Exposure to 3D graphics engines such as DirectX, OpenGL, or similar technologies.
- Experience with C/C++ development.
