Adjunct Professor of Political Science

Job Description: The Department of Historical & Political Studies (HAPS) at Arcadia University, invites applications for an adjunct professor of Political Science to teach two courses in the fall of 2026: Introduction to American Politics and Political Science Research and Writing (cross-listed with the Criminology and Criminal Justice program). There may be a need for additional courses in subsequent semesters.This position is in the Department of Historical & Political Studies (HAPS), which is an interdisciplinary department with undergraduate majors in Political Science, Law & Public Policy, International Relations, Diplomacy, and Law, National Security Studies, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Global Studies, Art & Global Change, Global Displacement & Human Rights Advocacy, History, Philosophy, as well as one Master's program (International Peace & Conflict Resolution). Location: GlensideResponsibilities: Teach one in person section of Introduction to American Politics, on Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30-10:10, and one in person section of Political Science Research Writing (cross-listed as Criminal Justice Research Writing), on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-5:40.Prepare course materials and grade related assignments, along with tasks associated with teaching weekly courses.Meet with students during regular weekly office hours.Meet regularly with the Program Director of the Politics, Government and Law program within the HAPS department.Qualifications:Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Political Science, or be near completion of the degree, and should demonstrate excellence in and commitment to teaching.Application Instructions:Applications must be submitted online through Arcadia's Human Resources portal to receive full consideration.
