Job Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare accurate electrical estimates for custom luxury residential projects.
Review architectural, electrical, lighting, and low-voltage plans and specifications.
Perform quantity takeoffs and labor calculations.
Develop material pricing through supplier quotations and vendor relationships.
Prepare detailed bids and proposals using the McCormick Estimating System.
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities.
Coordinate with project managers for smooth project turnover.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings.
Maintain organized estimating files and historical cost databases.
Monitor labor costs, material pricing, and market trends.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and bid strategy.
Collaborate with vendors, builders, architects, and internal teams.
Qualifications and Certifications
Required
Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience.
Extensive experience estimating high-end residential electrical projects.
Proficiency with the McCormick Estimating System.
Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems, lighting controls, generators, and service installations.
Ability to interpret architectural and electrical construction drawings.
Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
Preferred
Previous field experience in high-end residential electrical construction.
Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician background.
Experience with Bluebeam Revu or similar digital takeoff software.
Knowledge of NEC requirements and residential electrical codes.
Experience working with luxury home builders, architects, and designers.
