Echo Technologist Job Description Job Title Echo Technologist Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Echo Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. This role is crucial for providing high-quality diagnostic cardiac imaging services to patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a comprehensive range of echocardiographic procedures, contributing to accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans for patients with various cardiovascular conditions. This position offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative and fast-paced clinical environment. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), including 2D, M-mode, and Doppler imaging, in accordance with established protocols. Conduct stress echocardiograms (pharmacological and exercise) as required. Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and proper functionality. Accurately document all findings, measurements, and relevant patient information in the electronic health record system. Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to review findings and contribute to patient care plans. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards, including infection control protocols. Required Qualifications Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with a specialization in Echocardiography. Relevant experience as an Echo Technologist. ARDMS certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS). Preferred Qualifications Not specified. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in performing transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), including 2D, M-mode, and Doppler imaging. Ability to perform and assist with stress echocardiography (exercise and pharmacological). Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Competence in operating and troubleshooting various ultrasound equipment and PACS systems. Excellent patient communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking for accurate image acquisition and preliminary interpretation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Shift Details Shift: Flexible 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week. Contract Length: 13 weeks
