Job description

SUMMARY As a Machinist, you will write, edit, and operate manual and CNC equipment. This role also has responsibility to perform routine maintenance of equipment. Additional duties may apply as required. Work That Matters At Chromalloy, your work directly supports aviation safety and reliability. Our teams repair and manufacture critical aerospace components used across the global aviation industry. What you do here has real-world impact—every day. Shift: 3rd shift, Sunday-Thursday 10:30p-7:00a Shift Differential: Additional $2.50/hr ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES * Safely and efficiently set up and operate all common machine tools and equipment. * Can machine parts using horizontal boring mills, vertical lathes, engine lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses. * Perform simple to complex machine setups with little to no assistance. * Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics. * Solid working knowledge of machine tools/parts, set up, operation and maintenance. * Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma or equivalent. * 3+ years’ experience with manual machines. * Trade school education/certificate preferred. * Machining certificates as equipment requires. * Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and familiarity with Microsoft packages. * G and M code understanding. * Preferred experience with Fanuc controllers. * Preferred experience with O-M VTLs; Sip/K&T/Shibaura/Ikegai Mills * Preferred manual machining experience. Regularly :Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. . Frequently: Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms. Use hands to type, handle, or feel. Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and focus adjustment. Initial and annual hearing and vision exams must be successfully passed.
