Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support the migration of legacy automated test systems from LabVIEW to a modern C#-based test framework. This individual will analyze existing LabVIEW applications, understand complex test sequences and functionality, and recreate those capabilities in a new software environment. The role combines software development, test engineering, and hands-on hardware/software integration within a lab setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret existing LabVIEW applications and complex VI architectures to understand system functionality and test requirements.
- Convert and redevelop legacy LabVIEW-based test programs into C# (or C++) applications within a new test platform.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand test requirements for electro-mechanical and electronic products.
- Develop, debug, and maintain automated test software for production and engineering test systems.
- Integrate newly developed software with automated test equipment and hardware platforms.
- Support hardware/software integration activities in the laboratory environment.
- Troubleshoot software and test system issues, making modifications and enhancements as needed.
- Perform hands-on testing, validation, and verification of automated test solutions.
- Work closely with electrical and hardware engineers to ensure proper functionality of test systems and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience developing or maintaining applications in LabVIEW.
- Proficiency in C# or C++ software development.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand complex LabVIEW VIs and test architectures.
- Experience with software debugging, troubleshooting, and code migration efforts.
- Strong understanding of automated testing concepts and test system development.
- Comfortable working in both software development and laboratory testing environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hardware/software integration and automated test equipment.
- Familiarity with electronic, electro-mechanical, or circuit-based products.
- Experience using benchtop test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters, or related instrumentation.
- Experience in test engineering, validation, or manufacturing test environments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00/hr.
