The Instrument Specialist Sterile Processing Department (SPD) serves as the department's subject matter expert and owner of instrumentation standards, data integrity, asset lifecycle management, and quality governance. This role provides independent judgment, technical oversight, and strategic management of instrumentation systems, inventory standards, and tray configuration processes. The Instrument Specialist maintains instrumentation accuracy, compliance, and optimization across Surgical Services and Sterile Processing operations through auditing, validation, troubleshooting, and systems governance. The role collaborates with leadership, Clinical Coordinators, vendors, Application Support teams, and Surgical Services stakeholders to ensure instrumentation standards support procedural efficiency, regulatory compliance, and long-term operational strategy. The Instrument Specialist is not part of routine SPD production staffing and is not utilized for daily throughput, staffing shortages, or bargaining-unit production functions. Hands-on instrumentation interaction is limited to validation, quality review, troubleshooting, education, and audit-related activities.

Pay Range:
$40.46 - $51.72 Hourly Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure. Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area. Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word 'exempt' on it.
