We are looking to grow our team with lifeguards who are eager to learn and have a passion for helping children achieve their full potential!We offer Lifeguards:Competitive Pay: Our new employees earn $10.00 - $15.00 per hour depending on experience. We pay an additional sub differential as an incentive to staff who pick up extra shifts. Consistent Schedules: We offer both part-time and full-time opportunities with consistent schedules so employees can plan and balance their time away from work.Great Benefits: Full-time staff positions are available with comprehensive health insurance and paid time off. We also offer free swim lessons for eligible family members.Career Development: Big Blue Swim School is a supportive environment with a focus on career growth. Many of our employees become leaders at the pool with responsibilities in customer communication, training, and management.Lifeguard Requirements:Must be at least 15 years oldPrevious swimming experience not required, but must be able to pass an American Red Cross Shallow Lifeguarding Course, including the pre-test. Wants to have fun!Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods of timeAbility to work in or around the water for 15-25 hours per weekMust be willing to work weeknights and at least one weekend dayLifeguard/CPR Certification (this can be obtained during training at Big Blue)Lifeguard Responsibilities:Active Surveillance: Continuously scanning assigned water areas to detect hazards or swimmers in distress.Emergency Response: Activating the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) when necessary, performing rescues, and providing, first aid, CPR, or AED care.Rule Enforcement: Monitoring and enforcing pool safety rules to prevent dangerous behavior.Preventative Care: Identifying potential hazards (e.g., slippery decks, unsafe behavior) to eliminate risks before they cause injurymunication: Interacting with patrons politely and communicating with team members/supervisors.Assist with front desk responsibilities as well as maintain a clean facilityAttend ongoing training as scheduledRepresent Big Blue Swim School with a high level of professionalism and conduct in the workplaceOther duties as assignedBig Blue Swim School and its independent franchise owners follow an equal opportunity employment policy for all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, age, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, and genetic information.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hourBenefits:Opportunities for advancementPaid time offPaid trainingSchedule:4-hour shift8-hour shiftDay shiftEvening shiftMonday to FridayMorning shiftWeekendsAbility to commute/relocate:Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
